Announcing a new addition!

Yeah, yeah, I know what you were thinking. :)

We got a piano! I found it on craigslist for $75, can you believe it?! It needs to be tuned and we really don't have space for it, but I just couldn't pass it up.

I'm really hoping we can get out of our lease early, otherwise we'll all be crammed in here until September. And James has his eye on a treadmill. Maybe we'll just put it in the downstairs bathroom. Who needs two bathrooms, really? :) Back to the piano- I haven't played it a ton yet because of a few sticky keys and the tuning thing. But I just love having it! I love to see my kids climb up on the bench and plunk out notes while they sing along. I feel more musical already. :)

Good idea?

Oh, the cleverness of me! -to quote Peter Pan. I was pretty proud of this anyway. I seemed to be plagued with small bathrooms with little counter space. And I'm stuck with wrestling with 4 bottles of hair product, brushes, combs, straighteners and blow dryers. And my three kids that NEED to be in the bathroom with me. I'm always worried that one of the kids will pull on the cords or rest their arm on my straightener, so now I tuck it up out of the way in this! It's just a hot pad with a pocket, but now I don't have to worry about someone with small fingers grabbing it, or wait until it cools down to put away. Pretty good idea, right?! :)

Photos!!

I'm back on my old

computer, yay! Here are some curtains that I made for Brighton and Brooklyn's room. I backed it with blackout material, so they are pretty hefty. Brooklyn has been getting up really early and wakes EVERYONE up, so this was one of our attempts to get her to sleep in. It seemed to work for about three days. :) This is our next idea- this light. Here's hoping!

Coming soon!

Sorry my posts have been so sporadic.  I really like putting pictures up, but I haven't been able to do that with our PC on the fritz.  Evidently it doesn't like being vacuumed out, and died a quick (but very painful on my husband's part) death.  I've had to cope with a Mac, which I've not been gracious about at times.  Turns out I'm an old dog that doesn't like learning new tricks.  :) Several hundred dollars later, we are close to being back up and running!  Pictures coming soon!

I feel like I live in Siberia.  It is -20 today.  Seriously!!  We occasionally brave the wind and snow, but only a few times a week.  I'm thinking about ordering my groceries in.  Speaking of snow, it's crazy.  It keeps going and going....  And the snow movers just keep moving it around into huge mountains!  You have to be careful- you take a wrong step and you're in a drift up to your thigh.  I'm definitely getting some boots.
