Tag #3

Rules: Use only pictures from google image search

Favorite Color: I go through cycles, so I guess I could have done a rainbow.
But I do really like this bright pink right now.

Favorite Animal: I think hedgehogs are purty cute. And they don't smell or shed hair! Both plusses in my book.

Bad Habit: Putting things off. (This is also called procrastination, but I think that word is used a bit much.) If there is anything I need to do, I'll find other things to do to avoid it. Then I'm scrambling around last minute- why do I do this? Itis detrimental to my sanity.

Favorite Food: Homecooked meals! I usually eat fast food once a month, and it makes me feel sick. Eating out is fun, but I always think that I could have done it better. And I'm picky about getting all the yucky stuff out of my meat. Home cookin' for me!

Favorite Hobby: that I never have time for- Reading. I love to read, and am pretty fast. I started keeping track of how many books I read per year, and I'm at around 500. My favorite genre is young adult, my least favorite is non-fiction.

Favorite Song: This depends on what kind of mood I'm in , but I've been listening to a lot of Neil Diamond lately. I like the song- Play Me. But he's got several that will put a smile on your face.

Favorite Author: Robin McKinley, ever since I was a little girl. I'm a sucker for fairy tales, and she recreates them really well. She's actually a pretty private author, so I couldn't find a picture. But I think she looks like this.

Favorite Dessert: In all it's wonderful forms, but especially dark and the whoopie pies my husband makes.

Picture of Me: This was hard! Okay, this whole thing was hard but this was the hardest. I don't have a teenager yet, and she certainly won't be dressing like that, but I have my super mom days. I'm really grateful for my organization and memory that helps me to solve problems and rule the world.
Done!! I'm not going to tag anyone because this seriously took me more than an hour. I need to get back to my kids. No one is allowed to tag me for at least a week.

Tag #2

Things that I love about myself:

1. My hair, of course! Seriously, I do like that I have found a hairstyle that works really well for me, and that it's thick and fabulous. I'm probably a little too concerned about it getting messed up, but I'm working on that.
2. My toes. I think they're handsome toes, as far as toes go.
3. I'm thoughtful.
4. I'm crazy organized.
5. I'm a good friend, and like to help others.
6. I'm a pretty good cook. (Okay, not as good as James, but he's really a baker anyway.)
7. I try really hard to be a good mom
8. Doing well at my church calling is really important to me.
9. I'm a positive person, and have a good sense of humor.
10. I found a fabulous husband, and I try to be a good wife and not nag him too much. Marriage is hard work!
*Note- a number is not specificied, but I'm starting to feel braggy so I'll stop now. :)

Things that I'm grateful for:

1. My children's freckles. Logan has two, Brooklyn has three, and Brighton has twelve. We love to count and kiss them!
2. Sunshine and warm weather. Too long without sunlight makes me a little sad, and I don't like being sad.
3. Notes from friends. I really appreciate words, and treasure notes that people have given me.
4. Hair products. That would correlate with number one from the first list.
5. Blogs, scrapbooks, emails, facebook, and all other ways to keep in contact with special people.
6. Music of all kinds. For dancing, for feeling mellow, for making you happy, for being fun to sing along with, and for making you feel the spirit.
7. The gospel- OF COURSE! I'm just putting that on because I'm a good little mormon. Seriously, I love how the church helps families and me personally. I'd be pretty flat and boring with the church. Oh, and probably wicked selfish too.
8. Baths, baby wipes, washing machines, and other things that get us and our stuff clean.
9. Pictures.
10. Earrings and reasons for dressing up.
11. Eating out.

I tag Amanda S., Dawnelle B. and Jenny J.

Tag #1

I've been tagged a few different times, so let me just get them all over with!

The instructions for this tag are as follows:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

The book is Reading Lolita in Tehran, by Azar Nafisi. We're reading this for book club this month. Here is the sentence:

"That was the beginning of it all."

Sorry for not more of an interesting sentence! The book has been interesting, because I'm learning more about a culture and place that I don't know much about. It has been a trifle hard to wade through at times.

Let's see, I'll tag Hannah S., Karalenn H., Carrie W., Lindsey O. and Princess Aurora. Okay, so I made that last person up.

Lego Creations

One of my good friends loaned me some toys to help me through the cold weather (thanks Rachel!) and so we currently have legos. The girls have really enjoyed playing with them, and here are some of our creations.

Fun Family Day!!

Yesterday, we witnessed the world's largest rock paper scissors throwdown! It was organized by Omniture and was at the LaVell Edwards stadium. We made it a family outing- walked down to the stadium, ate the free food, danced to the music, and taught the girls how to play rock paper scissors. It was really fun!
Later that night, we went to the BYU Senior Celebration- and wow to all the free stuff!! And we could have gone the last two years at least because we have been seniors for that long. :) They had hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, BYU stuff, games, bowling all for FREE!! We took the girls but didn't get home until 8:30, and we were all worn out. James and I had even rented a movie, but just wanted to go to bed. Parents are such wimps. :)
